New Tools for Forumotion

Good afternoon,

After some time away from Forumeiros, my programming skills improved by 500%.

I had a few days with nothing to do and this community came to mind and I decided to invent a little hahaha

I always had the idea of creating some things that this platform limited (database).

With that in mind, and as I've already worked with some interesting systems in my professional life, I decided to have fun here and share a preview of how some things I just created are already working.

Who is viewing the thread / Who has already seen this thread:



Widget "Where are you located?"


If you are alone on the page and someone new joins, they will be added in real time, and if they leave the thread, they will be removed from the list of current viewers and will only appear in the list of those who have already visited the thread.


ShoutBox (external to the chatbox, it is disabled and the objective is to do something better and without certain limitations):
I will still create rooms where we can limit them to staff only in a safe way



Hide specific Posts (the view in the screenshot below is for administrators and moderators, members cannot see it until they reverse this by clicking "Show")




The funniest thing about these systems I just created is that they update in real time without the need to refresh the page.


These are systems that I can say are already working 100% without bugs, but I'm still looking to make some improvements if you have any ideas.

I'm developing more things like the possibility of Marking a post as "Best Answer" and if we want, because for some reason we made a mistake, to reverse the situation, we have the possibility of "Take the Best Answer" and remove that bridge that has been increased in reputation ;) (if everything goes well, in real time too);
I'm also looking at the logistics of being able to Hide specific topics;

I'm also creating the possibility of seeing how many views a profile has had, including visitors in this way:


There are already one or two similar codes but we all know that unfortunately they are not necessary, they make too many requests and use platform features that we can use for other purposes because unfortunately they use this to act as a "database" but we don't need any of that here ( no profile fields storing information or topics ;)

I promise that as soon as I finish adjusting this to make it safe for use on a large scale without causing problems, I will share it, initially limited to a few people to see how the thing performs because believe it or not, they are quite complex things and for those who understand the thing, they understand that There is some connection behind to do this magic and storage.

Still no feedback but I've continued to do a few more things.

Possibility to React and remove reactions if for some reason you make a mistake + Widget:



Comments:

• Each reaction can increase different amounts of Reputation (or if you want, specific reactions may not increase reputation) and if the reaction is removed, the reputation also goes down of course (I can already change it but I'm structuring it better because I want to make changes in real time to the topic's user fields to make it interesting but as it's something very complex I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do that too);
  
• Now when posting here I remembered that I need to remove the possibility that the poster might not react to the message itself for obvious reasons, right?
  
• Widget shows the last 5 reactions at most, if there are more than these, a "More" button appears, if clicked, it shows 5 more;
  
• Admins will also be able to remove reactions if for some reason they think they are being abused (coming soon);

Needless to say, there is no request limit ever with these games.

@Niko We can no longer consider ideas because they already work, we can call them prototypes hahaha

Now in shoutbox it is possible to see who is writing in real time, it detects from the "writing", so if you only have the mouse selected in the text box nothing appears, making it more robust.

Ganso if you do not share the resource, there is no point in promoting something you are doing for your own forum

If you are willing to propose a tutorial/share a resource that is great, but otherwise you are just making a blog of your own activities!

@Niko As the CEO of a company with over 50 employees working internationally for several large companies, I've learned that you don't share something unless it's safe and currently it isn't. If you check my forum there is no one there, if it were just for my forum it would be active because I have more than 15 registration requests (because they are only accepted by administrators).
But feel free to close the thread if you want, I won't post anything else here.

@Ganso I am just saying that you are free to share what you are doing if it is to make it available for others, otherwise it is just self-promotion and there isn't really the necessity to have a blog of your work here

@Niko As soon as I have some stable tools I will gladly publish them, yes, but at the beginning to see the performance I wanted to select just a few forums because as you can imagine these are tools that unfortunately cost money to work due to their complexity (not that it's a problem for me , but I need to see the performance and average cpu/gpu usage)
