Hey guys!
I'm not sure if you're familiar with this topic on forumotion: https://help.forumotion.com/t140894-keep-unread-posts-unread#958955
But it is a thing that has been bothering me and my community a lot. I personally don't think forumotion's approach to marking all posts as "read" when your session expires, makes sense at all. E.g. when you open your Whatsapp or discord and don't read all your new messages in different chats, they're not automatically all "read" when you put your phone away and come back later - because why would it?
So forumotion doing that, is just bad UX from my perspective, especially since you have the "mark all forums as unread"-option if you were in need for it.
Anyway, I was wondering if there is a way to achieve all new posts in forumotion board staying "unread" until I either clicked into the thread or marked them all as read? Edit: e.g. MyBB does it normally like that.
From what my little knowledge tells me, it might be not possible since you probably cannot do much if the session is cleared from server-side (?) and you don't have access to the actual php code but maybe you magicians know some solution.
